The main goal of the chair is to produce research that helps regulators to:
- make informed decisions
- design pilot programs
- estimate costs
- anticipate externalities
- know what to measure
The chair is already engaged in a collaboration with Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), and is developing projects with several exchanges.
One result of the collaboration with AMF is the paper The behaviour of high-frequency traders under different market stress scenarios; this empirical study by Pamela Saliba uses a unique data set provided by the French regulator Autorité des Marchés Financiers and at the change in the liquidity provision of high frequency traders under market stress.
Other results (in Circuit Breakers) are forthcoming.
